Onboard at Suzuka

Torrential rain ensured qualifying for Sunday's Japanese Grand Prix will be postponed until tomorrow morning, some five hours before the race will begin. So without much to report on, I have decided to delve into the Youtube archives and find some of the best onboard footage from the spectacular Suzuka circuit. Here is a small selection, enjoy.

This is 2007 World Champion Kimi Raikkonen's lap from Q3 in 2009. This clip includes Raikkonen's commentary of the lap and an overview of the Japanese track.

Here is the onboard footage of Mika Hakkinen's blistering start at Suzuka in 1999. He blasted past pole sitter Michael Schumacher off the line and stormed to victory, winning back-to-back championships ahead of Eddie Irvine.

Perhaps the most controversial moment in Formula One history. Prost v Senna in 1989. No explanation is required. This clip is shown from Senna's onboard camera and is also available in high definition.
