Onboard at Istanbul Park

Round Four of the 2011 season takes us to Turkey and the Istanbul park circuit. Here are a selection of videos to wet your appetite for the race in eleven days time.

I recently discussed some of the best dry races in F1 and in my view, the 2006 Turkish Grand Prix was excellent. After chaos at the first corner, which saw Mclaren's Kimi Raikkonen retire, we had several of the top drivers fighting their way through the field. Among them was Robert Kubica, who was competing in just his second F1 race for BMW. Despite this brilliant overtake on Mark Webber, he could only manage 12th in the race.

Ferrari's Felipe Massa is undoubtedly one of the most skilled drivers around this anti-clockwise race track, having taken a hat trick of victories in 2006, 2007 and 2008. Here is his pole lap from 2007, with commentary from his race engineer Rob Smedley.

It has come to my attention that my onboard features have barely included a certain Fernando Alonso. So here he is folks, commentating on his own lap around the Turkish circuit in 2005, where he finished second having passed Juan Pablo Montoya's Mclaren in the closing stages.

Finally, we join Pedro de la Rosa for a race lap during the 2006 Turkish Grand Prix. The Spaniard was one of the victims in the first corner scrum but thanks to a solid one stop strategy managed to finish fifth. Strategy will be just as vital this weekend.

Josh.
